Bare Tube Coils

What are bare tube coils? Bare tube coils are heat exchangers constructed with tubes only—without fins. While fins typically provide most of a coil’s heat transfer surface area and capacity, they can also trap particulate from the airstream. In environments with excessive airborne debris, this buildup can restrict airflow, reduce coil performance, and negatively affect the entire process.

For these demanding conditions, bare tube coils are often the preferred solution. Without fins, they maintain consistent airflow and are easier to clean and maintain. Bare tube coils are especially useful in high-temperature or particulate-laden applications, where product buildup could otherwise create a fire hazard within the coil bundle.

Advanced Coil designs and manufactures bare tube coils to meet ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, with optional U-stamp certification. Upon request, coils can also be National Board registered or CRN registered, ensuring compliance with the most stringent industry standards.
