What are Hot Water and Glycol Heating Coils?
Glycol and hot water heating coils are ideal for applications where there is a potential to see freezing conditions on either the air side or the fluid side of the coils. These coils have good heat transfer properties, low volatility and provide freeze and burst protection with the proper glycol concentration selection.
Both ethylene and propylene glycol solutions are utilized in numerous industrial applications. Propylene glycol is selected where there is potential for contact with food, beverage or other consumable products or where reduced toxicity is of an environmental concern. Advanced Coil fluid coils utilizing hot water, chilled water, cooling tower water or a water/glycol mix are ideal for a wide variety of industrial applications such as chemical processing, Food Processing, Pulp & Paper, and Power/Utility Plants.

Hot Water Coil Design
For rigorous applications, Advanced Coil designs and manufactures hot water heating coils and glycol coils to accommodate the following:
- Free-floating segmented design accommodates the high-temperature loads and thermal expansion and contraction forces
- Unexpanded stainless steel (304 or 316) tubes are well suited for corrosive environments
- Heavy walled tubes and TIG welded construction allows us to design coils for either high or low temperature and/or high-pressure applications
Water Cooling Coils
Water Cooling coils are used in applications where products in the air stream can condense and should be designed with an airside face velocity below 500 feet per minute to reduce the potential for entrainment of condensed liquids in the leaving airstream.
Water Cooling Coils can be installed in two possible configurations:
In addition to our standard header products, we can also provide coils with removable headers to access either one or both ends of the coil. The removable header designs are used when serious tube fouling may be encountered from particulate deposits (e.g. effluents, process water) in the hot water supply or where accessibility is required for inspection and/or cleaning.
